Vain is the Help of Man

Today I read Psalms 108 and I was struck by the phrase, vain is the help of man.  How true that is.  Without the Gospel of Jesus Christ to guide us, mankind is so disjointed and lost.  I have a friend that went to a marriage counselor that was not LDS and it ruined their marriage worse than it already was.  This counselor put ideas in my friends heads that didn't exist and created problems in their attempts to "help".  And from what I have been told by others, that is a pretty common thing.  The wisdom of man is nothing and is as substantial as cloth in a furnace.  It doesn't stand up to adversity.  It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that gets us through the tough times and helps us become better men and women which is what will change the world for the better.  As the saying goes the world takes the man out of the slums, the Gospel will take the slums out of the man who will then change his own environment.  The bottom line is, if there is ever a discrepancy between the world and God, side with God, always!  Until tomorrow.
