Our Intent Matters

Today I read Jeremiah 6 and I was kind of surprised that, from what I read, the Lord seems to be more upset that the Israelites were not upset at their wandering from His embrace than He was at the sin itself.  We are told that intent is just as important as action.  If we were to try and pay our tithing with a grudging heart, we might as well not pay it at all we are told.  Heavenly Father not only wants us to be righteous and to do what is right, He wants us to want to be righteous and do what is right.  It can be hard sometimes.  Sin is enjoyable and appeals to the natural man.  It can be a challenge to forsake it.  But it is what we are asked to do.  And it is very worth it.  Shouldn't we trust the opinion of the wisest being in the universe?  Until tomorrow.
