Nehemiah Prays for His People

Today I read Nehemiah 1 which reminds me a lot of the Lamentation of Nephi.  This chapter is a prayer that Nehemiah offers to God in regards to his people and his own sins.  It also reminds me of the prayer of Nephi that he offered on the garden tower in the book of Helaman for the corruptness of his people.  Like Nephi, Nehemiah knows the sins of his people and he makes no excuses for it.  He wants forgiveness for his people, just like Enos, and is offering up his heartfelt prayer for such a thing to happen.  This is true love, charity, for another human being being displayed in this chapter.  The pure love of Christ.  Until tomorrow.
