Josiah is Killed When He Disobeys God

Today I read 2 Chronicles 35 where the Feast of the Passover is kept by Josiah and his people.  It goes into quite a bit of detail of the feast and then afterwards tells a brief story of Josiah's death.  Josiah was killed because he did not listen to the Lord and he did that which was wrong in His sight.  There was a band of Egytians who were fighting another people and when Josiah came out against him, the king of Egypt sent a message to Josiah stating that he has no quarrel with Judah.  However, Josiah ignored the message and the advice of the prophet and went out to war and was killed by an arrow.  It just goes to show that no one, not even those favored of the Lord, are immune to the consequences of ignoring His will and His warnings.  A hard lesson to learn for some.  Until tomorrow.
